1. Pledge your support on Action Network
The quickest way to show your support for our #OutOfTheLoop campaign is by adding our name to our pledge urging the government to conduct a thorough review of the impact of current visa fees on young migrants and children, and to extend fee waivers for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) applications made under the private life route so that young people can get #OutOfTheLoop and #OnWithOurLives.
Join us to amplify the voice of over 330,000 young migrants by adding your name to sign our Manifesto!

2. Write to your MP!
The best way to meet with decision-makers and express our concerns about issues impacting our lives is to write to our Members of Parliament and invite them to engage with us on a new long-term approach that benefits everyone.
Here's how you can write to your MP:
1. You can find MP's contact details by using the "Find my MP" tool on the UK Parliament website and entering your constituency or postcode
2. Download our pre-filled template ready for you below
3. Customise it and send it via email or post it to your nearest letterbox
Be sure to invite your friends and family to do the same! The more support we build from our community, the more support we can build in parliament.
We're here to support you at any stage. If you require any assistance in writing to your MP or setting up a meeting, reach out to us at info@webelong.org.uk
3. Share your story
We gather impact stories from our young migrant community who have faced significant financial challenges or difficulties in securing and maintaining their immigration status. Our goal is to build evidence regarding the impact of Home Office policies. All collected impact stories will be anonymised. To find out more send us an email at info@webelong.org.uk.
We are also collecting testimonies from young people who have experienced issues navigating the switch to the electronic visa (eVisa) system. If you or a family member have faced issues creating your UKVI account or accessing your immigration status we want to hear from you! Reach out to us via email and if you need support head over to our Legal Advice Clinic page to book a session.
4. Join our community!
Join our Core Group, volunteer, or complete your work experience with us
Our Core Group engages in the organisation's decision-making. Each core group member has lived experience of the UK’s immigration system. Being a part of the core group gives you access to internal opportunities and priority for events. If you are a young changemaker who believes in lived experience activism and wants to work with us to improve systems, then this group is for you.
- We offer Structured Volunteer programmes if you would like to get involved in our work and support our projects and campaigns.
- If you are looking for a Work Experience Placement, we offer opportunities across our projects and campaigns.
- Every year we also seek Co-Producers based in either London or Manchester to help advance our work. You can learn more about these roles here.
If you'd like to get involved as a core group member or volunteer, send us an email at info@webelong.org.uk, and our Youth Development Lead will get in contact with you!
5. Attend our gatherings
We host monthly in-person gatherings in London and Manchester, on the last Wednesday or Thursday of the month, inviting young people to gather and build friendships and a lasting community. We believe in the power of storytelling so you will always be able to connect with others and hear someone share their experience, a reminder of why we campaign for change.
We post about our gatherings every month on our social media, but be sure to take a look at Eventbrite, where you can sign up for our upcoming events!
