On 20th November, the Home Office opened a public consultation regarding the reform of the current settlement system and the implementation of those reforms, following the release of the 2025 UK Immigration White Paper, titled 'Restoring Control over the Immigration System'.
This White Paper introduced significant changes to the ways migrants can settle in the UK.
This is We Belong's full response to the consultation. We Belong will continue to engage with the government and stakeholders to seek clarity on the proposed changes and to urge the government to uphold the settlement rights of young people who have grown up in the UK.
